Yo. U Critic's Kill Me, U never have understood Rap Music from the gate ... this is Music of our Culture a whole different language that many dont even choose to identify with!!! Im waiting on Obama to Brush his sholders at the comments and attack ads that Senator Mc Cain is currently running so that I can sit back and see if its still sexism!!! Ludacris is a Giant and Hillary is a Bitch thats why she's in debt!!! Oh Yeah great verse Chris!

You're the next Jeremiah Wright, Ludacris. Now Obama has to explain why you're on his iPod.

Tell me, if Obama is about uniting for change, why antagonize Clinton supporters and most independent whites? As a black voter, I've gotta say this is exactly what we don't need right now.

Technically it can seen as great spitting skills but politically it is a mistake and actually will end up doing more harm than good. Ironically the change he is singing about might never come. Obama is left denouncing Luda's lyrics. You cannot bring that hope we sing about by alienating and disregarding people Lets not full around, the old white guy in the suit still rules America and he is not going to give it up easily. Don't make it easier for him. Check out the media response already at:

http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/07/30/ludacris-raps-for-obama-upsetting-many/?scp=1&sq=ludacris&st=cse

and even in the UK

On the plus side at least the message of getting everybody out and voting is getting through.

WHO'S CAREER? LUDACRIS IS A LAW ABIDING CITIZEN WHY SHOULD HE NOT MAKE A SONG THATHE LIKES. I HEARD THAT THE CAMPAIGN SPOKE OUT AGAINST THE SONG, BUT WHAT ABOUT THE JUNIOR SENATOR FROM ILL.. HE NEEDS TO BE CAREFUL ABOUT ALIENATING HIMSEWLF FROM HIS BLACK BASE. WE MAY YET WAKE UP TO SEE THAT MAYBE HE IS NOT TRULY THE HOPES AND DREAMS OF BLACK PEOPLE.

GOOOOOOO LUDA!!!!!!!!!! Come on peeps it is what it is. Luda is an artist comin out with new stuff that he promotes and sells. Bad publicity is still good publicity. Obama is a politician and if anyone gets it twisted like it's Obama's fault, if someone holds LUDA'S actions against Obama then -uck em cause they are crazy anyway. If someone uses this to influence their vote then they have to be uneducated and thoughtless anyway. Having my BA and my MA and being a thoughtful individual I use a lot more criteria than a rap song to judge a political candidate. How bout like UHH the issues and where they stand on those? what a concept.
2 black /2 strong jdee iz out......

In all honesty, I love it when rappers get clever on politics, there are many great examples, too many to be mentioned, apart from one to explain the point of this post.

Aesop Rock: "it's tough to legislate, when scum tounge down a dinner plate, of booze, coke, heroin..." (from "Food, clothes, medicine)

Subtle, yet effective, but I am sad to say i can't say the same about Luda's words. After all, he took some potshots, he kept it simple, and that may be great for his audience, of which the majority is near legally retarded, but it doesn't work well among rap afficionados, and punchline connoisseurs.

The question isn't whether it is rap, or hip hop, or whatever. It's more, what some would deem "black culture", and has little to do with actual hip hop, and a lot to do with black anger towards white America.

While it might get Luda some friends among the not so educated, and sporadically employed, it definitely won't get him anywhere in the music industry.

After all, he exposed himself for what he is, a simple man, with simple thoughts, and no less a simple way of getting them accross.

Then again, simple sells, look at Lil Wayne...now there's simple...

Kanye, simple....let me see, i bet you i could do the same shit, if i had cash for the same sort of sample clearance and surrounded myself with professionals, particularly writers.

So, i'm not trying to diss Luda in general, a lot of his music is catchy and every so often he has a punchline that will make me laugh, BUT if he was going to shoot a load at the main attention getters in American politics, he could do it with a lot more oooomph!

Like i said, i saw those verses merely as potshots, that any semi drunk, semi high crackhead in bumfuccsville could come up with.

McCain in a chair? It's called a Seat...A seat in office. So, that line sort of lost its meaning, despite the paralyzed but. Again, paralysis is an ageless state of being, and doesn't only heppen to old people.

If Hilary is so irrelevant, then how come she will be your next president? After all, it's been in the cards for a long time, that she'll be VP, and come november 6th, she'll be the one running as a result of Obama's assassination.

You don't really think all of this is happening, so that the USA will be lead by a mixed marriage child, with a moslem father?

As if any white supremist group, republican business interest, or war monger neocon would stand for that.

But watch, they'll blame it on the terrorists. Obama is the new JFK/Lincoln, and given his position on Israel, "Al Quaida" has a perfectly good reason to place a bucket by his kicking foot.

The CIA no longer does the "make it look like an accident" hit. They've upgraded to "make it look like we're the victims"

Can you say, Operation Northwoods?

Let's be dead real, that was a very simple, pointless song, with nothing but mere potshots. Luda should stick to trying to sound ignorant, instead of trying to be clever on politics.

The McCain line was pointless. Hilary isn't worth a comment, and Obama is the next JFK/RFK

If being a rapper means beat boxing about prostitutes and hos I prefer Hip Hop and I don't mean Akon who talks about lollipops and strippers.

if you like this music you're as dumb as they are. and xpiritual if you are trying to say that black "artists" like these depict black culture please keep that to yourself and stop insulting minorities with intellect.

i'm with b. marley "peace and love" but not to the people who choose to remain stupid when their brothers and sisters are murdered in "war"

keep you're stupidity to urself and stop embarrassing the rest of us.

Ludacris, Ludacris, Ludacris.

Just another person putting Obama's presidency in jeopardy. I mean, saying lines like "McCain won't be sitting an any chair unless he's paralyzed", what does he think he's doing? This song is ALL over the news. Luda, why couldn't you have made a song WITHOUT bashing out Bush and everyone else?

What a shame.

Luda is makin his points and so what if some are offended. Everyone gets pissed off at something 24 hours a day! Some white people are running scared. Let em run to China for all I care. Racism is still alive and kicking unfortunately in the 20th Century. I'm a 40+ white male who thinks it's time for a change.

it has been the 21st century for 8...almost 9 years now

Shocked but not offended. Bottomline----anyone that can truly say that he/she is offended by this to the point of not voting for Obama wasn't planing to vote for Obama in the first place.

Luda has caused a stir. just like the republican supporter putting up billboards in Florida to diss the Decomocrats and especially Obama. Obama has been facing negative adverts from the McCain campaign but this sone is really sending shock waves across the political opponents. After all , thats what rap music is about , theres nothing controversial about the song. There more negative songs done this one , big up 2pac and Biggy RIP hommies. Could have been fun to hear from the cream de la cream of hip-hop. Lets concerntrate on nation building and forget about trivial issues. Peace, l am out!

So SAD and pathetic!

Ludacris,
I am 56 years old. There's nothing wrong with your rap about Obama. Why can't we speak our minds. Isn't this a free counry? Right on Brother, Right on! If this hurt his election than the people weren't for him in the first place. It's only rap music and free speech.
What's the big deal!

basically all i have to say is that i dont give a damn about the whole black president and stuff.. basically if mccain was black i'd still be voting for him.. mostly the older ppl dont want a black pres. bt a lot of the younger peoples concerns are only that of him changing us. we dont want to be changed and we dont want our hard working money bein givin to the poor who can do there own hard work for money.. the part in this song about painting the white house black.. whats that.. it would be blue for all anyone cares its been white ever since it has been built and that means somthing to this country.. we dont need change all we need is a good president that wants to make things right and not try to change every damn thing that he thinks looks wrong.. he seems like one of these people who is like if i dont like it it needs to be changed why doesnt he think about what the people want besides what he wants.. he doesnt know shit about politics and apparently neither does luda i mean im a fan of his music but if hes goin to think all white ppl dont like obama because of the fact hes black.. fuck that thats gay! and tellin all the black ppl to vote.. to me.. luda seems pretty racist and hes not making himself look good by saying ANY of that.

See Thats exactely what Im talking about another person that doesnt know what the fuck he's talking about... its October dude , the 21st century U dont even know what Barack stands for its not Black its worldwide awareness and ability to overcome, handle and deal with the politics that Bush has Fucked over the American people with... when the Democrats left office after President Clinton we had Millions, now that the Republicans have been in office we are in debt ! thats the bottomline... everybody wants change dude, face it! even Mcain has Fliped Floped and became a Change Agent because he know that if he keeps pumping that tired ass rederect he's going to loose... Oh but wait, He is loosing anyways... painting the White House Black is an expression of a Leader, no one is thinking about the color, its the Culture dude.... the courage to get along with everybody thats all !!! America as a Nation wont survive if we dont and who's better suited for the job of cleaning up the Republicans Mess??? President Obama !!! live with it. if U dont like it vote for Mcain U do have a choice.

Why is the race card still being played? Your voting for a man because he is black. He will be sworn in on the KORAN if he wins, is that okay with you. Sure, because he is black! Hey Luda, hope you enjoy Obama giving your taxed income to the poor, white or black.
